Cities today bathe in light. Artificial light has brought about a major change in the way we experience the city: the night has come to life. The exhibition "Architecture of the Night - Luminous Buildings" shows how over the last hundred years the use of artificial light has changed the way we design and build as well as how we experience the built-up environment at night.

This convention is intended to document a major step towards the recognition of the profession of Architectural Lighting Design and the strengthening of the ties between lighting designers, clients and the architectural World.

The second internacional diploma for Architectural Lighting Design, organizad by UNAM with the academic support of the KTH University of Stockholm and the association of europan lighting designers, ELDA+, with the coordination of Gustavo Avilés is taking place in Mexico City and has attracted attention both in the University community as in the professional national lighting circle.
