Lumaglass is a patent pending concept that combines Electroluminescent
technology with a highly reliable and versatile profiled glass system.
Lumaglass provide architects with many design solutions, creating stunning highlighting effects for glass façades or glass partitions.
It offers a secondary lighting source that illuminates a glass wall application from the inside, giving "more freedom to design".
In the Lumaglass system, EL (Electroluminescent) light is used in a form of a film which is fixed onto the inside flange of the profiled glass panels.
An electroluminescent (EL) lamp consists in a layer of phosphor crystals sandwiched between a very thin aluminium electrode and a clear top electrode.
When connected to an alternative current (AC) power supply, the particles are excited by the voltage and frequency and give off light.
This is an environmental friendly light that requires low energy consumption and little to no maintenance. The light will never burn out completely rather it will lose brightness over time, more or less slowly depending on application.
