The industry of architectural lighting design is in the beginning of its history, lighting design is just getting together all the elements that had already shown how powerful light is when it is applied with knowledge and attention.

A proof of this is the first Global Professional Lighting Design Convention, the PLDC, which is going to take place in London, UK, from the 24th to the 27th of October of this year. People from all over the world are going to make this global gathering of lighting enthusiasts a unique event. The attendants will include professionals of lighting design, lighting engineering, architect and lighting research. Students from universities of Europe, North and South America and Australia are invited too. The majority of participants are affiliated to one or several of PLDC’s official partners comprising 16 associations, 14 universities and various media relations.

The PLDC consists in a three-day conference about  research, professional practice, case studies and health + well being. The conferences will address a wide range of questions relevant to actual and future architectural lighting. Activities include a three-day exhibition of leading lighting manufacturers and a first-time bestowal of PLDR Recognition Awards. In the ceremony, more than 400 guests will cheer for the nominees and congratulate the winners. Seven are the categories that are going to recognize the exceptional achievements in the field of architectural lighting design.
